Beth Israel Synagogue
777 Weller Drive, Peterborough, ON.
CONSTRUCTED 1963
“This is one of the finest buildings of the modern era in the city. Its form symbolizes a lion with outstretched arms. The entrance gates are by artist Ted Bieler, and are entitled The Red Sea. This place of worship has been successfully adapted to accommodate a Unitarian congregation that shares the synagogue with its original Jewish community.”
